If you speak to any professional videographer, the two things they will always say is never work with animals and never work with children...
In the space of two months, Platypus Productions managed to successfully cross both of these bridges and this is really what we are about: Pushing boundaries, being creative whilst understanding the nuts and bolts of the business.
Platypus productions was founded in 2016 by Will Barnard, who used to be the regional sales, marketing and events manager for a large FTSE 100 company. Having first picked up a camera at the age of six, will has always had an affinity for the visual arts and whilst in his sales, marketing and events role he often worked with media or video production companies who either completely failed to deliver the end product or spent an inordinate amount of time in the planning phase.
Having understood from a client perspective how much this can affect a business, will decided to found platypus productions, to provide responsive, creative and personal solutions to both individuals and businesses of all sizes. Will also has a great deal of experience with videography, having attended Werner Herzog's masterclass, as well as several other training avenues.
If you are looking for a personable, knowledgeable and professional approach to photography, videography and advertising then please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
You can see what one of our client says about us below:
Platypus Productions came to Thailand to help us with a very challenging content piece. We had two main objectives, one was to create a short video to be shown on local ferries, social media and cinemas to drive visitor footfall to our non-profit clinic for strays and the other was to address public perception about the implications of adopting strays and neutering pets.
The short video has already proven great results and when we ask visitors how they heard about us, this is... cited as one of the most common drivers. The second, longer video, has just been completed. It was challenging not least because our resident pig took every opportunity to try and topple the videographer but also that parts included interviews requiring an interpreter and subtitles. In addition to this, working with sick and injured animals carries a big emotional load which the Platypus team dealt with extraordinarily well.
The professionalism with which they approached the subject, the guidance they gave us and the end result all speak for themselves. I should also mention that we got a bonus video that is aimed at volunteer recruitment and this got huge traction on social media.
We are very grateful to the guys at Platypus and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking a professional and friendly service with high quality production values. Thank you Platypus!!!
